About Bruges
A brief overview
Bruges has a rich history. The oldest habitation dates from the 1st century. The city started to develop slowly in the 8th century. Charlemagne and Louis the Pious were keen to protect Bruges from the Normans.

Bruges is a modern shopping city with an extensive offer of bars and restaurants. In addition to typical chips stands, you will find numerous bistros, brasseries and a number of starred restaurants.
